Just a random thing I remember from the "Weekly Reader" in 6th grade. Yeah, I was interested in nature from my earliest years. Got a picture of me holding a big, long night crawler when I was a toddler.

I lived in AZ for 4 years and took Ornithology at ASU but never saw one. Then last spring, with my daughter in the Tucson area, we saw several. Neat birds!

Very similar and often (easily) confused with cane cholla. Old yellow fruits hanging on tell me it is likely cane cholla.

This is one of the few trips where I’ve found a cycling shirt I like. In the past, Scott has bought cycling shirts on several of our bike trips. My turn!

It sure is. I’m sorry it wasn’t clearer, but maybe I’ll see more. It’s a more colorful variant of the Oregon Junco that we see at home - apparently all of these juncos are variations on the same species.

Really? The inspiration for Velcro? Yup - I see that you’re right. Neat to know.

Only one? So sad! Possibly you weren’t sure what to look for? Study these photos closely so you’re sure next time. And, work on your bird calls. I’ve found the chirping ‘Beep, beep!’ from time to time as you bike along to be quite effective at drawing them out.

Glad you found some competent mechanics!

Maybe they could go teach a class at Mo's shop?

Amazing! We only saw one roadrunner when we were in Tucson .. and it was far away.

Great shots of these 2!
