Maybe in the off months. I suspect we’ll make it down again, but maybe in early spring next time. I don’t know about owning property though - we’re already looking at a CycleBlaze timeshare in Malaga, you’ll recall.
4 years agoWe like to specialize. I got B.C., she gets Arizona. My turn next.
4 years agoHmmmn. Sounds like maybe Tucson could be a home base? All you need is one more cool AZ Jersey and some real estate.
We would definitely visit!
Where you stay certainly makes a difference. We stayed in the Garden District (near Pima and Swan) .. and it wasn't a super experience. Looks like your location is great, for the neighborhood itself and the easy access to the Loop.
It must feel pretty great to ride with Rachael and her fancy shirt.
Passers-by must be thinking, "What a lucky guy!"
You go, girl!
I encourage you to look at Scott and say "Neener neener neener!" when you put it on in the morning.
Beautiful! Your bird photos always add smiles to my day. 🙂
4 years agoWe enjoyed riding a couple segments of the loop. It's where we saw our one roadrunner .. and a coyote down in the wash shortly afterwards.
It was also somewhere just off the loop that the Singing Cycling Cowboy filmed his brilliant Old Paint video.
I think I saw quite a few Arizona jerseys in the photos and videos, not just Rachel's. Time to get one for yourself, Scott!
4 years agoDefinitely not chainfruit because the fruits are all similar sized, bright yellow and single.
I ruled out buckhorn because it seems to have more robust sections than they have.
I puzzled between buckhorn and chain cholla too, and came down on the side of stag horn because it’s supposed to have a denser thorn pattern and a scragglier appearance. These look pretty dense, and it looks pretty scraggly, but it’s just a poorly educated guess.
4 years agoLemmon Meringue? :-)
4 years agoRound tailed ground squirrel. I had one of those in the Mammalogy collection I was required to turn in.

I can't watch one without really expecting it to stop, turn around and say "beep, beep"!
