Oh gosh - yea, never good to not put up the hood on a jacket in the rain...in fact, I'm surprised they even make rain jackets that don't come with a hood!

2 years agoI tried waterproof socks, but didn't think they did a good job - -hopefully your's do better?
2 years agoYum - mussels! :) :) Not every restaurant knows how to cook them good - so it's always a pleasure to get well-prepared ones!

2 years agoI always bring good earplugs to wear when I'm camping (or in a hotel!). They are marvelous!
2 years agoOh my gosh!! Good thing you were able to get everything off the train and catch the correct train in time!! Sounds like something that would happen to me!!

How lovely to see this journal again. We avidly followed your posts back in 2010 when we were neophyte bike tourers with new Bike Fridays. You guys were an inspiration to us then--you still are!
I don’t remember ever seeing a building like this where each floor overhangs the one below it.
