Ah, glad you got your flight sorted. We were worried how the situation may affect you. Brilliant photos and a very interesting trip.
1 year agoSo many hostels these days are so slick and sophisticated and, consequently, are often rather soulless and cost more than a hotel room. This hostel was focused on hikers and retains a simplicity with which I can identify but at the same time has a bit of character of its own.

1 year agoIn South Africa we say "'n boer maak 'n plan" which translates as "a farmers makes a plan" suggesting that we should always find a way to solve a problem. However I'm not sure what we would have done if it wasn't for the pile of dried reeds.

1 year agoRugby Union is very much a minor sport here in Oz.
In Queensland and New South Wales the game is Rugby League which is played in schools and junior clubs as well as the professional game.
In the other States Australian Rules is the game. I would not be surprised if there were more playing Soccer than Rugby Union here so basically we are punching well above our weight in Rugby Union which is why we seldom beat the All Blacks.
I suspect you have two horses in this race :-)
