Last night in Michigan

Branch to Ludington

Instead of taking Hwy 10 into Ludington, we decided to take the backroads and was it ever worth it!

We rode into Ludington to do some errands, then out to our Rodeway inn. The Walmart is across the street so we walked over to get some  supplies after we cleaned up. I've been working on Minnesota tonight! We need to figure out South Dakota because we are ridng through Sturgis during the motorcycle rally! 500,000 motorcyles- OH NO!

Today's ride: 35 miles (56 km)
Total: 9,661 miles (15,548 km)

Nancy WrightI will get back to you tomorrow about South Dakota. You don't have to ride directly through the town of Sturgis! I will give you a better route. You will probably encounter many motorcycles on the road, though. And it could be hard to find lodging. People at the rally use lodging all the way into Wyoming because there aren't enough places to stay.

Don't know what time you are leaving on the Badger. If you are in town mid day, there is a great Italian deli on Buffalo Street. And the great bakery is on 9th.

Good that you avoided Route 10 into Ludington! It's a dangerous road for cycling.

More tomorrow on S.D.!

Nancy
