Day 84: Krems to Klosterneuburg (Vienna), Austria: Made it to what will be our farthest point East!
As we had also found at the Passau camping, it was possible to order some breakfast food the evening before. We had done this, and received plates of cheese and sausage, plus buns and jam as well as coffee. This we ate in the “living room” while plugged in and browsing the free internet.
Laurianne and Baptiste from Lyons were also there, as well as the German family with the six and two year old, and about 200 other cyclists!

As we headed out through Krems we thought about going into the old town. On the one hand, we have now seen a lot of old towns. On the other hand, we love them all. So we just took a quick turn through!
Of course, we immediately found a farmers’ market in progress, and we were hooked. At the market were apricots and grapes from the famous Wachau. So we bought a pile of those. Plus there was cheese, maybe like our favourite from a couple of weeks ago? We bought some. Then there were poppy seed rolls and coffee cakes that looked really good. We only bought a bit. “Can’t buy it all”, I said. “Why not?”, said Dodie.
The final thing that we really could not buy was bottled pumpkin seed oil. Erhard loves this, we had learned from his brother in Irdning. Still, it was way too heavy and breakable.
Those pink bombs can be bought in bulk at the supermarket! They also appear in a glossary of Viennese pastries that we picked up.
